Overview
General Information
We hope you like our house. Ty’r Celyn is literally translated as ‘House of the Holly’, hence the name Holly Tree House. It was built in the late 80s by the father of the owner. You will see a caricature of him in the corner of the dining room. He was well known around the village and was always willing to help with some very long tales to tell. Around the house you will also find some other information about the house and the village.
We love the beauty of this area of Wales, which has wonderful views with the sun setting over the sea. The house is on the edge of the Eryri National Park (Snowdonia), so please do go and see the mountains, they are beautiful in their different colours at all times of the year. Or go for a walk on the local beach which is just a short walk away and a great place to let the dogs run. You will find more information on places to see while you are here towards the end of this pack
In this pack you should find all the information you need for your stay, including details on how to work the various kitchen appliances, TV, etc.

Hints & Tips
If you find something you really enjoyed doing such as a walk on a particular beach, a museum you went to, a restaurant that was great or anything else that just made your holiday fun, please write it in the Hints & Tips book. There are many things to do listed at the back of this pack, but there will always be things to see & do that aren’t listed, so please let others know about them.
Dogs
The house throughout its life has always been used by dogs, so your dogs are allowed throughout the house. However, please do not allow dirty dogs onto the sofas and in particular do not allow dogs to jump onto the beds.
In addition, please do not go into, or let your dogs into, the two fields. A local farmer regularly has sheep on them, and they should not be disturbed.
Children
The child gate is stored in the under-stairs cupboard. There is a spanner to tighten them hung on the inside of the door to the cupboard.
When setting up the travel cot, make sure you lock the sidebars straight prior to pushing the bottom down. This will save you getting very frustrated because they won’t lock when the base is pushed down.
Yard Safety
At one time the property was a working market garden, and one of the green houses still remains. Because of the glass, we have marked this area out of bounds. Additionally, there is a rusted threshing machine. Please do not touch it.
Smoking
The house is a no smoking area. You are of course welcome to smoke outside, please do dispose of your cigarette ends appropriately.
Water Feature
You are welcome to use the water feature outside the kitchen window. It can be switched on where it is plugged into the power socket to the left of the water feature. Please make sure you securely close the lid to the sockets by clicking the locks in place.
Make sure there is enough water in the system – if the pools are low/empty it needs filling. You can just top up by adding water into the pools, in particular the bottom left pool where it flows back to the reservoir.
To conserve energy, please switch off if you go out or before you go to bed.
Bike Shed
The left-hand door when you look at the building in the yard is empty. You are welcome to store what you like in there. Please remember don’t forget to take your belongings when you leave. The lock on the door has the same code as the key code to the house.
BBQ
There is a BBQ stored in the bike shed which you are welcome to use. The tools and scraper brush for it should be stored with it. If not there, then please look in the kitchen drawers in case they have been placed there.
Please leave it in the state you would like to find it in. Thanks!
Gardener
A gardener mows the lawn and does other job around the garden on a regular basis. If this work will get in the way of your party/BBQ/sunbathing please do let them know, but if at all possible, please accommodate them so they can keep the garden as you would like to see it.
